Student Life and Experience Conference (SLEC)

The Associated Students of the California Institute of Technology Board of Directors (ASCIT BoD) has passed a resolution to establish the inaugural Student Life and Experience Conference. This important initiative aims to bring together students, faculty, and administrative staff to address all aspects of the student experience at Caltech.

Conference Dates:

  • Student Faculty Conference (SFC): April 10, 2025
  • Student Life and Experience Conference (SLEC): April 11, 2025
  • Location: Ramo Auditorium

What is the SLEC?

The SLEC is designed to extend the focus of the established Student Faculty Conference (SFC) to include important non-academic aspects of student life. While the SFC will continue to address academic issues, the SLEC will include administrative staff to ensure a holistic approach to enhancing the student experience. Our goal is to foster open and constructive dialogue, develop actionable recommendations, and create a more supportive and unified Caltech community.

How You Can Get Involved:

  • Join a Committee: We will be forming several committees to focus on specific aspects of student life, including extracurricular activities, campus relations, first-year experience, and more. More information will be sent out in the coming days.
  • Participate in Surveys: Your feedback is crucial. Surveys will be distributed in January to gather insights from students, faculty, and staff.
  • Attend the Conference: Save the dates! Your participation in the conference will be key to its success.
