Student Life and Experience Conference (SLEC)

What is the SLEC?

The Associated Students of the California Institute of Technology Board of Directors established the Student Life and Experience Conference (SLEC) in the spring of 2024. This ongoing initiative aims to bring together students, faculty, and administrative staff to discuss all aspects of the student experience at Caltech.

The SLEC is designed to extend the focus of the established Student Faculty Conference (SFC) to include important non-academic aspects of student life. While the SFC will continue to address academic issues, the SLEC will include administrative staff to ensure a holistic approach to enhancing the student experience. The goal of SLEC is to foster open and constructive dialogue, develop actionable recommendations, and create a more supportive and unified Caltech community.
